I think that guitarist’s sound lives in his hands. And I think a good sound makes a guitarist a good one much more than all the other attitudes. So it’s really very important. Nonetheless everybody’s equipment can improve sound’s quality and make it much better! Is not important how to get the right sound, but to have it. Everybody makes his own choice following his personal taste, I obviously have mine. So, after years with big racks and 4 speakers cabinets, now I usually play with a combo (or a head) and pedals. I feel like I found my way. Here are my setups:

1. 60 watt head/ 2x12 cabinet/ rack effect processor/midi pedal/ a few pedals. Comfortable setup, but with big encumbrance.
   
   
2. 2x12 combo (60 watt)/ pedals case (big one) featuring 4 modulations, 1 delay, 3 overdrives, 1 wha, pedal looper (programmable). Less encumbrance. My preferred setup.
   
   
3. 1x12 combo (40 watt)/ little pedal case. The right setup to be used on a small stage, when you play good, enjoyable music!
